The Walking Dead: Maggie’s Planned Return

So as we all know by now Maggie (Lauren Cohan) has come and gone, and if you don’t then you seriously need to catch up! In the last episode ‘Stradivarius’ we’re told that she’s finally gone and joined Georgie of the unknown group that Maggie and Enid had a brief encounter with back in Season 8. Trading a bunch of vinyl records for a book named ‘A key to a future’. This book contains a huge amount of knowledge that allowed them to rebuild civilisation. We see that in the time jump as new buildings have arisen, along with a huge amount of farmland.

Sending letters back and forth to each other, Maggie is sent them every once i na while to ask how they’re doing and always asked for her to come and join their group to build another community. And that’s exactly what she’s done, whether she felt that was her only path to take due to the feud she had with Michonne (Danai Gurira) over Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) we don’t know. But a popular theory has been cropping up wondering if she had something to do with the ‘X’ scarring on both Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) and Michonne’s backs, so far anyway.

So what does the show have planned for Maggie for when she finally returns? Being a fan favourite for millions since Season two, she definitely needs a good return for when it finally happens. Angela Kang (The Walking Dead Showrunner) is just about 100% confident that Lauren Cohan will be returning to portray Maggie’s story once more in Season 10. Season 10 will be the full force of the Whisperers most likely, as they’re in it for the long run as we see in the comics.

“We will hopefully come back to Maggie’s story in Season 10,” Kang told ComicBook.com on Tuesday. “Lauren and I have been texting about some things, and we’re hopefully gonna schedule a conversation, but Georgie’s group is definitely out there in the world doing some stuff, and I have some notion of what they’re up to. They may also be part of the universe in general. That’s really up to Scott, but we’ll see how it all plays out.” – Angela Kang

Angela then went on to say that she couldn’t reveal anything to do with Maggies exit just yet, but the extended universe of The Walking Dead could be a reason to go by.

“In our minds, there’s a lot of things going on in the world around our characters and the way that it intersects with our story. That’s part of what we’re talking about currently.” – Angela Kang

It hasn’t been confirmed yet that Lauren Cohan will once more portray the Maggie in the future, Angela Kang is almost certain that it will happen. Let’s hope Maggie does return, as Daryl, Carol and the rest of the survivors are going to need all the help they can get from The Whisperers.

The Walking Dead: Was That Dwight In The Woods?

On this weeks The Walking Dead episode ‘Stradivarius’ we got to know Connie (Lauren Ridloff) a little bit more, especially with her senses. Remember that she’s deaf (and in real life too) so that all of her other senses have risen. In the warehouse, we see Connie place her hand on the floor. She can feel the tremors from the incoming herd, which I think was awesome to see. The show is bringing in new ways of looking out for as well as dealing with walkers. For example new weapons, Connie is equipped with a slingshot and shows how good she is with it in this episode. Even her sister Kelly (Angel Theory) uses her own slingshot and shows equal accuracy.

The particular trait I want to look at with Connie is her keen eye for vision. In a scene towards the end of the episode, we see the Militia as well as Magna’s group head to the Hilltop. But as they stop to take a report from the Hilltop scouts, Connie spots something or someone in the forest. As Connie can’t hear anything, she’s more focused on her other senses, eyesight especially.

But who do we see in the woods? The most obvious answer for it would be the Whisperers that we’ve been teased at. But who else could it be? It could be a number of characters, it could even be a new one.

For example, it could be Lydia (Cassady McClincy) who is a new character apart of the Whisperers. She could be going against her mothers (Alpha) orders and spying on people on her own.

It could also be Jadis (Pollyanna Mcintosh), however, that would be way too soon for her to be coming back to the show which would change everything.

There are more, but I really do think that it’s Dwight (Austin Amelio) returning to the show after his forced exile from Daryl (Norman Reedus). It’s a high possibility that Dwight has had no other option but to seek help from the communities that now run this particular area. After he set out to find his wife Sherry (Christine Evangelista) from the letter she left him before, if they did finally get back together it’s possible down the timeline that she could have been captured by the Whisperers. We might even see her in a very famous scene from the comic books to do with a number of pikes in a field later on in the season.

It would be incredible to see Dwight’s return coming back to beg for help from the communities he once terrorised with the Saviours.

Who do you think it is Connie saw? Let me know below!

The Walking Dead: Daryl’s Missing Something!

Did anyone else notice Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) signature piece of clothing missing something last night? The two wings that we’ve seen for the past nine years on the back of Daryl’s jacket have suddenly changed dramatically, as one of them has suddenly disappeared. But how did that happen? Will we find out later on in the season maybe through flashbacks? Or was it just put in the show so we can see how badly Daryl has been living out in the wild. One of those wings could even be a reference to Rick (Andrew Lincoln), now that he’s gone. One wing could be Carol (Melissa McBride), that he still has whereas the one he’s lost could be Rick.

It could also be something to do with the ‘X’ we saw first crop up on Michonne (Danai Gurira), but now it’s also on Daryl’s back in the same place. Were they both captured at the same time by an unknown group? Or were they even captured separately? They may or may not even know they both share the same scarring. Either way, it’s caused the communities to divide, especially Hilltop. Up until now, Michonne presumed Maggie (Lauren Cohan) was still living at Hilltop. But towards the end of this weeks episode, Siddiq (Avi Nash) tells her that Maggie is lone gone with baby Hershel.

Whatever has happened to cause this scarring, along with Daryl losing a signature wing of his from his jacket. It has to have been something serious.

The Walking Dead: How I Prepare Before Each Episode!

Ever wondered how a fanatic of a show prepares to watch the latest episode of The Walking Dead? Let me tell you how I prepare for it. Which starts with the night before!

Firstly, I make sure that I don’t get out of bed too early so going to sleep late the night before is a must for me! Don’t want to be waking up early the day the latest episode aires otherwise, I’ll be falling asleep by the time it airs!

As the day progresses, I make sure I get plenty to eat and plenty to drink so I have the energy for when the show finally starts. I also fill my day with everything The Walking Dead related. That could be something as simple as drinking out of a TWD glass. Also reading back the comics, I read Volume #13 ‘Too Far Gone’ earlier today. Awesome to compare it back to what happened in the TV series, to see what’s different.

I then make sure I watch the previous one or two episodes before the latest one just so I get a recap and maybe catch something I might have missed. I read through my reviews (Which you can find on my website) as well as others to read the latest theories as well what’s happened in that particular episode.

Getting to the actual airing of the episode. An hour before I make sure I have a black coffee (Yes, I’m one of those people. I don’t know why I’m one of the very little people that like black coffee, but I am!). This helps me stay awake for the entirety of the episode as well as those dreaded adverts we all hate to watch!

As the episode starts, I get my favourite drink. That’s simply Whiskey and Coke. Not a lot of coke though! I don’t want to ruin it!

Then finally, sit back and enjoy the show. Don’t forget the box of tissues, just in case your favourite character dies. Which has been the case for me many times! Shane, Hershel, Tyreese, Glenn, Sasha, Rick. I’m sure the list is going to heat up as the Whisperers are introduced, which I am dreading. A LOT.

So how do you guys prepare for the latest episode each week? Let me know below!

The Walking Dead: Andrew Lincoln’s View On Recasting Rick Grimes

the-walking-dead-season-9-rick-andrew-lincoln

Back in 2010 on the 31st October, Rick Grimes story in the TV series The Walking Dead began. Waking up from his coma, he struggled to come to terms with the world. After finding a pizza delivery boy named Glenn (Steven Yeun) and a few others Rick travels with them back to their main camp just outside of the city. Finding his family Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) Rick had only one purpose in this post-apocalyptic world, which was to protect his family at all costs (But we all know how that turned out, poor Rick!).

But what would happen if Rick’s role was to be recast to a younger actor? Andrew Lincoln tells THR that he would be perfectly ok with a recasting of Rick.

“Why not? I think the possibilities are endless.”

“It’s an extraordinary environment and landscape, the mythology that Robert Kirkman has created, and I love that. I want to see that with Negan. That’s a backstory that I want to see on the mothership, I’m fascinated by it. But this franchise can pull people backwards and forwards. I would love to see Michael Rooker [who played Merle] back on screen in a miniseries. With these kinds of shows, we are afforded the opportunity to bounce around narratively and be able to play with time.”

We did see Rick work with his preapocalyptic and apocalyptic partner Shane (Jon Bernthal) one last time on Ricks final episode of The Walking Dead, which aired on the 4th of November 2018.

“It was a bit of a fever dream.”

“To have Bernthal show up with his Punisher hair straight from set felt both like so much time had passed and that no time had lapsed. We fell back into the same relationship. It was amazing to work with him, Sonequa Martin-Green and one of my favourite people, Scott Wilson. To have the privilege of working with him yet again was magnificent. There were three times this season that I came home and it just felt like this is why I became an actor. It reminded me of the early seasons and how much fun and how satisfying the whole journey has been.”
